For the Lord my God is bringing me into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills;
A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey;
A land in which I shall eat food without shortage and lack nothing in it; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills I can dig copper.
When I have eaten and am full, then I shall bless the Lord my God for all the good land which He has given me.
Deuteronomy 8:7-10 adapted from the Amplified Classic
What tangible things are promised to me, Jayne, in this passage if I do as verse 6 tells me and "keep the commandments of the Lord my God, to walk in His ways and [reverently] fear Him."?
- land which has its own water source
- land which produces grains, fruit on the vine and from trees, olives (a source of good oils/fats), and honey (hmmm...maybe I need to learn more about beekeeping)
- land that not only produces food but it produces an abundance of food that provides all my nutritional needs
- land rich in minerals
